MySkillTrack (MST)

MySkillTrack evolved from MPSC Skill Test into a broader typing practice platform, with a vision to bring preparation for different competitive typing exams under one platform.

01. The Problem – Bringing Marathi Typing Practice Online

When we started developing MPSC Skill Test, there was no dedicated online platform that offered Marathi and English typing practice based on the MPSC examination pattern. Students had to depend on desktop applications and separate tools to practise typing, making the process complicated and less convenient. Marathi typing was an even bigger challenge because of its specific keyboard layout and typing requirements. We wanted to solve this by building a single online platform where aspirants could practise both Marathi and English typing, following the actual examination format without switching between multiple applications. Marathi typing was particularly challenging. Students often had to use separate desktop applications for typing and another application or tool to practise, making the learning process complicated and inconvenient. There was a need for a single, easy-to-use online typing practice platform where students could practise both languages, follow the MPSC exam format, and track their performance without switching between multiple applications.

02. The Technical Challenge – Making Marathi Typing Work Online

What initially seemed like a straightforward development project turned into a challenging technical journey that took more than 3–4 months. One of our biggest challenges was implementing Marathi typing using the Mangal font and its keyboard mapping. Unlike other Marathi typing layouts such as Kruti Dev, the key positions and character mappings were different. We had to develop a dedicated key-mapping system to make Marathi typing work accurately within the online platform. Another major challenge was building a reliable text comparison system. Typing evaluation involves more than simply checking whether two texts match. We had to account for different possibilities, such as missing words, incorrect lines, repeated words, and variations in the position of errors. We developed and refined the comparison logic through extensive testing to ensure that typing performance could be evaluated accurately and consistently.

03. The Outcome – From Challenge to Launch

After months of development, testing, and improvements, we successfully launched MPSC Skill Test — an online Marathi and English typing practice platform designed specifically for MPSC aspirants. The platform brought typing practice, performance tracking, and exam-oriented practice together in one place, eliminating the need to switch between multiple desktop applications. MPSC Skill Test has now officially evolved into MySkillTrack (MST), expanding its vision beyond MPSC typing preparation to bring multiple competitive typing exams onto one platform. As part of this expansion, we introduced Court Typing Test Series, including the All Maharashtra Test Series for High Court typing exam aspirants. The new test series has already attracted over 1,400 registered students, marking another important milestone in our journey. With Court Typing now available and other exam categories in development, MySkillTrack aims to make typing exam preparation more accessible through one unified platform.
