How to verify Google Business Account
Establishing your business’s online presence is a key step in today’s digital landscape, and creating a Google My Business (GMB) account is a crucial part of that journey. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of verifying your GMB account, ensuring that your business information is accurate and trustworthy for potential customers.
Step 1: Set Up Your Google My Business Account
Before diving into the verification process, make sure you’ve created your Google My Business account. If you haven’t done that yet, refer to our previous blog on How to Register your Business on Google.
Step 2: Navigate to the Verification Options
Once your GMB account is set up, head to the verification section. This is typically found in your account settings, guiding you towards the crucial step of proving the authenticity of your business.
Step 3: Explore the Verification Methods
Google understands that businesses vary, and so do their verification needs. Click on the verification option, and you’ll be presented with several methods. Here are the five common verification processes:
Business Video Recording: Capture a 1 to 3-minute video showcasing your business exterior and interior. Ensure you include your business name plate, logo, and relevant equipment.
Live Video Call : Opt for a live video call where a Google representative verifies your business details through a virtual meeting.
Postcard : Receive a physical postcard at your business address with a verification code. This is a traditional yet effective method.
Phone : Choose phone verification, where Google will call you with a verification code to confirm your business details.
Email : If eligible, opt for email verification. Google will send a code to the email associated with your GMB account.
Step 4: Choose and Execute the Business Video Recording Process
Select the “Business Video Recording” option, as it’s commonly recommended. Click on it, carefully read the instructions, and start recording your video. Make sure you’re logged in with the same Gmail ID used to create your GMB account.
Step 5: Capture Your Business Story
During the video recording, focus on capturing both the exterior and interior of your business. Showcase your business name plate, logo, and any distinctive features. If you run classes, highlight the classroom setup and equipment used. Ensure the video is between 1 to 3 minutes for optimal results.
Step 6: Await Verification
Once you’ve successfully completed the video recording and submitted it, Google will initiate the verification process. Be patient, as it may take up to 5 days for your business to be officially verified.
